Laying the foundations. Every word used in the Yellow Series flashcard set is carefully selected to be three letters long, preparing your child to read short words while building reading confidence for Arabic letters in their cursive forms.
Each picture card features a word written in its isolated form, with a corresponding matching word card written in cursive — your child simply matches the two. At this stage, the aim isn't to know the meaning of the word, but to focus on decoding every letter correctly from right to left, pronouncing the name of each letter and then its phonetic sound.
The Yellow Series is the preliminary stage for developing phonemic awareness and identifying Arabic letter names within a word — an essential step before your child begins reading with vowels and other sound markings, which will be their next step in the Pink Series.
