About Us
A story that began with a parent's wish
PeekaBuk wasn't born in a boardroom. It grew from one mother's desperate,
heartfelt search — for books that felt truly right for her children.
She grew up surrounded by
She was born and raised in Saudi Arabia, where Arabic was her first language — not just spoken, but lived. Educated entirely in an Arabic medium, she grew up immersed in
authentic Islamic teachings from the very beginning. Every book on her shelf, every story she heard, every resource around her was in Arabic — rooted in faith, carefully chosen, and beautifully aligned with how a Muslim child should grow. It was simply the world she knew. Rich, meaningful Arabic children's books. Islamic stories told in the language of the Quran. Resources that naturally nurtured a child's fitrah —without a parent ever having to search, question, or worry about whether what their child was reading was truly good for them.
Then life changed. She moved to India, built a home, and started a family. And she reached for the bookshelf only to find it bare. The Arabic books she had grown up with didn't exist here. And neither did their English equivalents. The familiar world she had always known had disappeared.
"Everything I had taken for granted as a child simply didn't exist here — not in Arabic, not even in English. I just wanted for my children what I had grown up with."
But Arabic never left her
Her approach to teaching was never about memorisation. She believed that to truly own a language — especially the language of the Quran — a student must live inside it. So her sessions were conducted almost entirely in Arabic, focusing on listening and speaking first, building fluency naturally rather than just familiarity. Over the years, this drew more than 300 students from all over the world. During the pandemic, she taught remotely for a Kuwaiti school for over 1.5 years — proof that the language she loved had no borders.
Closer to home, she ran Arabic sessions for kids and ladies, free community classes, and story sessions — and slowly, a warm and trusted community formed around her. Parents who shared the same values, mothers who asked the same questions, families who wanted the same things for their children. A community quietly growing, year after year, long before PeekaBuk had a name.
"I grew up with the Quran speaking to me in its own language. That connection — I wanted every child I teach to feel it too."
The title that started it all
When PeekaBuk was born, the very first book stocked was one close to her heart — a title she knew families like hers needed more than anything else. Teach Your Child Arabic in 10 Easy Lessons. It was a major hit. The community that she had been nurturing for years responded with overwhelming enthusiasm — 100 copies sold, and families reaching out for more. Word spread. And soon, parents began approaching with a new ask: Islamic children's books in English. That was the moment PeekaBuk truly began to grow.
What started as Arabic resources for a specific, deeply felt need slowly expanded into a fully curated collection — Islamic children's books in both Arabic and English, bringing the best of global children's literature directly to families across India.
A community that grew, book by book
In those early days, acquiring Arabic books meant relying on relatives flying in from abroad — a suitcase of stories carried home with love. Whenever she shared these books on her platform, showing how she used them with her children and how they were making a difference, the response from her community was always the same:
"How can we get these books for ourselves?"
That question — asked again and again by parents who trusted her — planted a seed. It was never a business plan. It was simply a mother answering a community's need, one that had been quietly growing for years through every class, every story session, every conversation about raising children with faith.
Back in 2016, she wasn't trying to start a business. She was just trying to find the right books for her children. And one question kept returning to her, quietly but persistently — "Is this book truly right… and does it align with my child's fitrah?"
Because not every book builds a child. Some simply fill space. And as a parent, that difference matters more than anything.
The problem we solved
Even when the right books existed somewhere in the world, getting them into the hands of families in India was a battle no parent should have to fight alone. Heavy customs charges, international payment barriers, high shipping costs, damaged deliveries, lost packages — the obstacles were real, exhausting, and quietly discouraging families from accessing books their children truly deserved. PeekaBuk was born to remove every one of those hurdles. A carefully curated bookshop that does the hard work for you
— sourcing, importing, and bringing the best Islamic children's books from around the world into one trusted space, directly to your door. Today, Alhamdulillah, we work with 30+ global publishers — carefully sourcing authentic Islamic books, Arabic learning resources, and beneficial educational materials from trusted publishers around the world. Every title is selected with care, ensuring it nurtures good character, creates meaningful moments between parents and children, and truly serves the families who trust us. Our strength has never been in the numbers. It has always been in the intention behind every single book we choose.
"It's not just about reading. It's about raising children grounded in Islamic values, connected to their fitrah, and confident in who they are. And if PeekaBuk can be a small part of that journey — that means everything to us."
Chosen with Purpose and Prayer
This is something very close to our hearts. Every single book that comes onto our shelves is chosen after making istikhara and purifying our intention — asking sincerely and honestly: "Will this truly serve our community?" Every title is chosen with the hope that it will spark meaningful conversations, nurture good character, and leave a lasting impression on a young heart — long after the last page is turned.
"We don't just place books on shelves. We place benefit into little hands".
From my book to your book
The name PeekaBuk holds the entire journey within it. Peeka — that spark of curiosity, that delightful moment when a child opens a book and steps into a new world of learning and imagination. And Buk, drawn from the Arabic.
كتابك → كتابي
Kitabi → Kitabuk
MY BOOK → YOUR BOOK
WHERE IT BEGAN → WHERE IT'S GOING
"What began as Kitabi — my book, my family's need — slowly became Kitabuk — your book, every family's story. That journey from one parent's search to a shared mission is the heart of everything we do."
